GBP
GBP is the international three-letter code for the pound sterling, the currency of the United Kingdom. It is the currency you pay in when you send money from a UK bank account, and it is the first half of the pair written GBP/INR. The code appears on quotes, statements and converters so that there is no doubt which currency is meant. Prices in pounds are converted into rupees at the rate on your quote, not at the figure shown on a news or search page. A short definition for orientation. The guides and the institutions' own documents are the places for the details.
